As of this writing, there is hope that vaccination can help halt the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. However, the anti-vaccination movement has been on the rise, spreading online misinformation about vaccine safety and causing a reduction in vaccination rates worldwide. This study sought to identify potential communication strategies for use by healthcare organisations and professionals to decrease the spread of vaccine misinformation by quantitatively analysing the online behaviour of Twitter users.

Hawke s Bay s Civil Defence says it will review its communication with the public during Friday s three large earthquakes - and subsequent red-zone tsunami evacuation.
But it also says in a significant disaster, personal responsibility is important, and it s a timely reminder that those in a tsunami zone need to inform and prepare themselves for a big event.

Although vaccine hesitancy is an individual behaviour, it is also the result of broader societal influences in the historical, political, and socio-cultural context in which vaccination takes place. A key player in that context is the media, which are a tool for spreading information and increasing awareness about vaccines and the opinions of both vaccine supporters and opponents. On the flip side, lack of information and fake news are among the contributors to low vaccination coverage. This study explored the association of childhood vaccination rates in Spain and vaccine-related coverage in the print media. Its purpose is to expand our understanding of the media s educational role in public health and hopefully inform future vaccination campaigns.
